Creative wedding table number ideas including names instead of numbers, table cards, and seating charts ideas.

Every bride and groom wants the guests' tables at a wedding reception to be attractive and fun. Here are some simple ideas to try.

Wedding Table Name Ideas Instead of Numbers

  • Use words of prosperity such as Love, Hope, Faith, Peace and Charity.
  • Another alternative is to use the word “love” in different languages such as Amour (French), Amare (Italian), El Amor (Spanish), and Liebe (German).
  • For a theme wedding, match the name to the theme. For example, beach wedding table names could be Coral, Starfish, Sand, Surf, and Shell.

Wedding Table Numbers and Cards

  • Take an inexpensive double sided photo frame, about 4”x 6”, and place one on each guest table with the table number in one side of the frame and the dinner menu in the other. To save money, borrow frames like this from friends and family.
  • Use a decorative paper flag on a stick as the wedding table number and place it into the centerpiece.
  • For a beach wedding, paint the table number onto a palm or banana leaf and, again, place in the centerpiece. Check out these gorgeous beach theme table cards at Etsy.
  • For a winter or Christmas wedding, attach the table number to the front of a flat, snowflake ornament. Using ribbon, tie the ornament around the centerpiece vase or the neck of a wine bottle.
  • Paint the table number on a 6" x 8" flat artist canvas panel and display on a mini wooden easel, available at most art and crafts stores for just a few dollars. Easels can be painted in coordinating wedding colors.

Wedding Seating Charts

  • When displaying seating arrangements for guests to peruse, take a large canvas (from any art supply store), tightly wrap a piece of decorative fabric over it (or use a linen covered one), securing it in the back with staples, and then post the table assignments using decorative push pins.
  • If using a flat board to displaying seating arrangements, place it on a ornate wrought iron cookbook stand, a brass music stand or a sturdy decorative plate holder.
  • Don't simply list tables using columns of names. Put the names into images of diamond rings or hearts for a more visual display.

From original names to display ideas, all of these table names, table card and seating chart ideas are easy for any bride to do.
